We are proud to share that Dr. Osthoff presented innovative research on breath aerosol PCR for the detection of lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) during ESCMID Global 2026.
The presentation highlighted the potential of non-invasive breath aerosol sampling using AveloMask technology combined with PCR-based pathogen detection approaches. This promising strategy aims to support faster, patient-friendly, and scalable diagnostics for respiratory infections while contributing to improved infection control and pandemic preparedness.
The study presented in this video represents a research initiative parallel to the Horizon Europe projects BreathForDx and B-Path. While independent from these projects, it shares a common technological component through the involvement of Avelo AG and the use of AveloMask technologyThis achievement reflreflects the commitment and expertise of all collaborators involved in advancing innovative diagnostic solutions through international collaboration.
